Nuance Welcomes Loquendo Customers and Partners – and the Loquendo Team Worldwide
On September 30, 2011 we completed the acquisition of Loquendo, an accomplished Italian-based speech company specializing in network and embedded Automated Speech Recognition (ASR), Text to Speech (TTS) and speaker verification. We’d like to share what this new union means for our joint customers and partners and the industry as a whole:
Highly advanced voice solutions: Combining Nuance and Loquendo’s speech technologies will improve our ASR and TTS capabilities and languages, as well as advance our voice biometrics solutions. One particularly exciting element to this merger is that the combined technologies now span both network and embedded devices, offering us an even greater opportunity to advance our technology’s performance for both Enterprise and Mobile businesses.
Stronger global customer and partner relationships: For Nuance and Loquendo customers, the merger provides access to the industry’s largest and most experienced voice and language portfolio. The new combined team has unparalleled knowledge, including more than 20 years of developing speech recognition, IVR, call routing, desktop, authentication and reporting solutions using all leading platforms and technologies.
Robust language support: Loquendo’s western European roots and language quality excellence complement a broad set of Nuance languages and TTS voices. We now offer the broadest language support in the industry.
Boundless innovation: Both companies offer very sophisticated voice-enabled technologies. Together, we can now accelerate innovation through a new center of excellence for speech research, based in Turin, Italy.
