Loquendo - global leader in speech technology - announces the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, Marcello Giuseppe Caruti Antonelli.

The appointment of Mr.Caruti Antonelli by Loquendo's Board of Directors took effect from May, 2006. He also assumes the role of Managing Director.

Marcello brings to Loquendo a wealth of commercial and technical expertise gained from many years of experience responding to the needs of private and public corporations. This will be of immense value in increasing Loquendo's technological leadership and in extending its commercial reach in global markets.

Before his appointment to Loquendo, Marcello was responsible for sales to Central and Local Government Bodies for Telecom Italia. He was, during this period, distinguished for his strong commitment to modernising the communication networks of public entities. Indeed, Marcello has been working in this field since the 1970s, when he helped to set up the very first telephone and data networks in Italy.

In 1990 Marcello was appointed Telecom Italia's Head of Sales in Milan, during which time he successfully collaborated with the banking and insurance sector and with Milan's foremost universities, for which he developed telesurgery systems for operation by remote control.

Alongside his commitments to Telecom Italia, Marcello has continued to teach at the Reiss Romoli Business School.

Marcello is also on the Board of Directors for Telsy, leaders in information and communication security, and for Path.net, providers of advanced data networks for public bodies.
