Voiceweb and Loquendo Technology Power The Pythia Taxi Dispatching System in Greece

Turin, June 7th, 2005

Voiceweb, Greece’s premier speech technology integrator and application provider has supported the Pythia Consortium to develop a Taxi Dispatching System leveraging Loquendo’s VoxNauta™ Platform.

The Pythia taxi dispatching system enables customers to book a taxi over the phone in a matter of seconds. The dispatching system is fully automated and requires no human operator intervention. With the new service, calls will be served in less that 50 seconds, compared to the current 15 minutes waiting time. The percentage of missed calls, as high as 25% during peak hours, will drop dramatically, resulting in a significant revenue increase for taxi companies. The Pythia TAXI dispatching system comes with a variety of additional features, such as distress call, where the call center is alerted and notified of the taxi’s exact position in case drivers are in danger, location-based commercial notifications, to name but a few.

VoiceWeb provided Pythia Consortium with the VoxNauta Platform, on which the automated speech service was developed. VoxNauta is Loquendo’s open, multi-lingual interactive voice application platform, which provides powerful competitive advantage by extending web services and content to the telephony world whilst building expansive reach and customer loyalty. Voiceweb also provided the consortium with valuable support and expertise, instrumental in the development of the Pythia taxi dispatching system. Dr. Nikos Patsis, CEO of VoiceWeb said: “VoiceWeb, always aiming at offering best-of-breed solutions to its clients, provided its expertise & technical support to the Pythia consortium which allowed them to develop a technically innovative & commercially viable solution”.

Mr. Stelios Mavromichalis, the Pythia taxi dispatching system project leader, said: “After long evaluation of the best products in the field we chose Loquendo's VoxNauta Platform for its technical superiority, stability and most importantly technical support. VoiceWeb is a valuable solution provider for this platform with considerable experience and value added support services. Just the right combination to rely on”.

Mr. Marco Romagnoli, CEO of Loquendo said: “We are delighted with VoiceWeb’s achievements, which leverage the power of Loquendo’s best-in-breed technologies to provide high-quality solutions. VoiceWeb is playing an essential role in asserting Loquendo’s strong positioning on the Greek market”.
