Global speech technology company Loquendo presents
its latest development in the world of vocal technologies: Loquendo
Spoken Dialog System (SDS). Loquendo SDS is a dialog management
system that extends the power of VoiceXML-based services by enabling
more sophisticated dialog capabilities.
Spoken interfaces powered by Loquendo SDS can support mixed-initiative
interaction between users and services. Callers can communicate
with the spoken language system by natural speech, and by adopting
a spontaneous interaction style throughout the dialog. The results
include more natural conversations, reduced call time, and overcoming
of possible speech recognition errors.
Loquendo SDS is the result of several years of research in the field
of speech understanding and human-computer dialog. Several well-known
problems of development of friendly user interfaces, such as the
need of re-using dialog knowledge for different languages of service
deployment, have been solved in Loquendo, and this will reduce the
time-to-market of spoken based applications in several languages.
Loquendo has implemented a set of specific tools and tutorials for
developing dialog interfaces by using Loquendo SDS. The system is
compatible with VoiceXML 1.0 and 2.0.
