Loquendo, the leading innovator in speech technology,
has announced that Loquendo's Text To Speech technology TTS) is
now available for the latest compact versions of Windows: Windows
CE 5.0 and Windows Mobile 5.0.
The porting of Loquendo TTS to these new environments has
provided a valuable opportunity to introduce, into the embedded
version, the full range of improvements and enhancements already
carried out on the Loquendo TTS core engine, originally derived
from the multimedia/telephony sectors. Once again, Loquendo TTS
demonstrates the considerable advantages of having the same core
engine across its whole product portfolio, from server-based and
multimedia to the most downsized versions.
In order to fully exploit the new memory management
system in Windows CE 5.0 and Windows Mobile 5.0, a new and valuable
feature has been included in this embedded version of Loquendo TTS:
the introduction of a client/server architecture, so keeping the
TTS engine and the client application as two separate processes.
This is a crucial advantage in many cases, as it makes available
the full 32 Mb of memory to each application process, allowing the
developer to get the maximum out of every application.
Loquendo is happy to present its speech embedded
technologies at the 3GSM trade show, in Barcelona from February
13 to February 16 (Hall 2, Booth G31).
