Loquendo TTS for Automotive Applications

The Automotive profile has been specifically designed for navigation and telematics applications on-board vehicles, for example:

  • for reading addresses, even in foreign languages
  • for reading emails and text messages
  • for reading phonebook contact names
  • for reading song titles.

Key distinguishing features

  • high sound quality, thanks to a database specialized for Automotive use, and to a wide-band encoder which maximises the performance of the on-board sound system
  • highly compact and scalable, the system’s memory footprint can be adapted to the hardware resources available on the device or on-board system
  • multilingual voices (Mixed Language Capability)
  • ability to read phonetic transcriptions provided by map manufacturers (e.g. Navteq and TeleAtlas)
  • support for all major automotive operating systems.
