> Loquendo Powers Bertone's Voice Controlled Concept Car

World-famous concept car creators, Bertone have selected Loquendo speech technology to power their very latest innovative concept sports car, on show at this year's Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland.
Bertone's Birusa concept car is equipped with Loquendo's VoxDrive system, a prototype embedded system that enables drivers to control certain functions on the car using their voice. VoxDrive incorporates Loquendo's high-performance, multilingual Loquendo TTS synthetic speech and Loquendo ASR automatic speech recognition technologies. The prototype also features Loquendo Speaker Verification technology to ensure that commands are accepted exclusively from authorized users/drivers. Loquendo has met the specific requirements of the car environment, with its complex acoustic background, including extremely strict accuracy and execution speed constraints. Voice-controlled technologies do not only make driving easier - they also enable drivers to communicate with the outside world. If they are connected to a mobile communications system, information and info-mobility services can be requested rapidly and easily. Information is provided vocally to make driving simpler, safer and more entertaining.

> Loquendo on Show at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence

Loquendo technology is one of the attractions featured at the exhibition on the history of the Italian language, on show until the 30th of September 2003 at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. The exhibition which bears the title of a quote from Dante's Inferno ("Dove il sì suona"), takes visitors on a fascinating journey into the world of the Italian people and their language - and its evolution from its origins to the present day.
Loquendo technology was chosen by the exhibition's curators to be the "voice" and "ears" of the Automatic Voice Processing section of the show. Loquendo TTS synthetic speech engine tells visitors the story of the evolution of speech technologies and surprises them with the lifelike quality of its many personas through a variety of fun exhibits.
Loquendo TTS and Loquendo ASR speaker-independent speech recognition also power the exhibition's virtual contact centre, which can be reached throughout the country by dialling a toll-free number.
