IN-DEPTH
To enrich its product portfolio and expand its application fields, Loquendo has recently
released a version of its embedded TTS for Symbian OS. This new product
brings along a set of unique features, which have never been available on a mobile phone before.
These impressive features will permit developers to create a brand new set of services, such as
SMS and email reading and many more applications that can benefit from vocal output.
The Symbian OS version of the speech synthesis technology increases the span of the Loquendo
product line, which is now available for servers, desktop, multimedia, PDAs and smartphones,
allowing widespread exploitation in the mass market.
This paper presents an overview of the new technology provided by Loquendo, including
an analysis on possible market applications and benefits for the end users.
