Are You Ready For the Future?

ForewordFOREWORD

Dear Reader,

The challenges presented by the current economic climate are causing businesses to become more prudent and ever more eager to seek out value for money, along with a reasonable return on their investments. In our sector, this approach is translating into an increase in the development of services and solutions in which the speech component assumes a greater role - so helping to reduce overheads while at the same time giving clients a higher quality service. Within this context, Loquendo is proving itself to be the genuine quality alternative at the right price.

Numerous examples of recently launched Loquendo-enabled solutions for driving efficiency and fostering client retention can be found in this edition in
Loquendo@Work. These solutions are spread across the most diverse vertical markets, from traditional ones such as Speech Enabled IVRs, to emerging fields like Fleet Management, as well as radically new areas, such as Air Traffic Control Simulation.

The Security and Intelligence sector is currently a growing priority for many governments worldwide, and Loquendo Intelligence Solutions have made major inroads into this market including, last month, integration into Redwolf™ - a surveillance solution trusted by US government intelligence agencies for more than 20 years.
TechFOr 2009, a leading event in the Intelligence sector, will be held in Rome, May 11-14th. If you wish to attend this event, by invitation only, please contact: security@loquendo.com.

In Product News you can read about the launch of Dillo! – the Loquendo Voice Dialer for the iPhone – which, on its Italian release in April, was the top selling App on the Italian iTunes Store. This success has driven today’s release of Dillo! in Spanish, with more languages coming soon.
With Dillo! (Italian for “Say it!”), Loquendo has brought much requested hands-free dialling to the iPhone, demonstrating the real potential of Loquendo Embedded Technologies for speech-enabling applications for the iPhone and other mobile devices (Loquendo Technologies are available for all major embedded OS).

If you have any comments about this newsletter, or any queries about Loquendo Speech Technologies, or if you would like to discuss your ideas for developing speech enabled applications, don't hesitate to contact us.
